Disability Sport Network
The function of the network is to develop a clear agenda and action plan to coordinate provision across organisations to ensure that people are not working in isolation.
The network would also be responsible for keeping abreast of funding opportunities, and writing bids when opportunities arise; providing information and support to those who want to set up a new club, as well as networking opportunities and training for volunteers and; coordinating the marketing of what is on offer from different organisations across the city.
It will also support clubs and activities that are already taking place across the Sheffield. For more information about the network or to get involved please contact Gareth Hayden 0114 273 4266 or email [email protected]
“Thanks for organising the Boccia event, our children really enjoyed it.
It was a fantastic opportunity for our children from a special school to integrate with children from mainstream primary schools on an even playing field.”

“After the experience of trying to access mainstream groups and having experienced a lot of negativity and ultimately having to "quit" each time.
Quicksteps has changed our lives for the better, Thank You!”

“Our students absolutely loved the Sheffield to Sochi ice event at Ice Sheffield last week and we all saw them in a completely different light!
Quite amazing to be honest with you :-)”

“My son has attended Quick Steps for over a year. As a result of his DCD he struggles with co-coordination and finds it hard to play team sports with his peers at school. He had began to see himself as unable to take part in sport. Sport tended to be a negative and at times painful experience for him.
I can honestly say that since attending Quick Steps this has changed markedly. He looks forward to attending every week.”

“Thank you so much, Within Reach, for giving my grandson, Cameron, who has Aspergers syndrome an opportunity to learn to ice skate last Friday.
We are hoping that ice skating becomes Cameron's 'thing' now as he seems to find a sense of himself on the ice. Thanks so much guys, it's a superb service.”
“Both my children have been attending Quick Steps. We originally applied for my daughter who has cerebral palsy and social communication difficulties, and her younger brother also attends.
It is fantastic in that my children have both been welcomed by the group from day one, and the session is able to accommodate my daughter's social communication difficulties because of the relaxed nature of the session. ”
“The Within Reach organisation is an integral part of the Sheffield Community.
Whether you are an international athlete or a volunteer, Within Reach will always look to provide you with opportunities and support.”

“Just wanted to say thank you to you and your team for the coaching you did for goalball. The children really enjoyed it and learnt a lot about the sport.
I think you have developed some new goalball followers.”
